Dead Man’s Pass Ranch operates under a Level 3 Managed Lands Deer Permit (MLDP)—the highest level of wildlife management recognized by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. This designation allows us to offer extended hunting seasons and flexible harvest options not available on most private lands. While a valid Texas hunting license is still required, you are not required to use your license tags on any deer harvested under the MLDP. That means county and statewide bag limits do not apply when hunting whitetail at our ranch.
