TEXAS WHITETAIL DEER HUNTS
We want our South Texas hunters to harvest the very best trophy whitetail deer possible—and we’ve built our entire operation around making that happen. At Dead Man’s Pass Ranch, we spare no expense when it comes to the health and development of our South Texas whitetail deer herd. We provide a year-round feeding program using premium protein blends and mineral supplements designed to promote optimal body condition and maximize antler growth.
As anyone who’s hunted here knows, South Texas summers can be intensely hot and dry. That’s why we’ve installed 25 water troughs and maintain 7 dirt tanks across the ranch to ensure our deer have consistent access to fresh water. This strategic land and herd management keeps our animals healthy and thriving, even in the harshest months.
We stand firmly behind the quality of our South Texas trophy whitetail bucks and the consistent success we deliver to our hunters year after year. When you hunt with us, you’re not just chasing a deer—you’re pursuing a legacy of excellence.

Breeding and Management Program:
We have been aggressively managing our Wildlife Population under our Managed Land Deer Program through TPWD since 2000 in South Texas. Our approach is to control our whitetail deer population to maintain a high ratio of quality bucks to does, selective harvesting, and environmental control. Additionally, we have Scientific Deer Breeding Permit (Breeder License TX 1980), which we use to mate and produce quality trophy whitetail deer bucks and does. The best of the offspring are released back into the ranch to continue to better improve our overall genetics on the ranch. The quality of our whitetail deer has improved each year using proven scientific methods and strict harvest controls. From what we have seen we expect this year to be the best year ever!
Breeder Bucks and Al Sires
Our bloodlines include many famous pedigreed bucks from around Texas. Some of our Trophy Breeder Bucks include: Tex, Cheyenne and Captain Hook. We also bring in new whitetail deer genetics from all over Texas through our Artificial Insemination Program, which is done under the direction of our Licensed Veterinarian. Some of our Al Sires include: The Fed, Fedex, Five-O, Gladiator’s Hammer, Heisbo, MVP, Top Fuel and Maxbo Whirlwind. Although these deer are from Texas they include both northern and southern genetics.
Beyond Whitetail Deer Hunting
Although, our whitetail deer put Dead Man’s Pass Ranch on the map as one of Texas’s elite hunting destinations, the ranch also offers opportunities to hunt a wide range of exotic and native game, including Axis Deer, Blackbuck Antelope, Scimitar Oryx, Aoudad Sheep, Nilgai, Black Hawaiian, Texas Dall Sheep, as well as seasonal hunts for Turkey and Dove in addition to premier whitetail hunting.
