Some of the local area attractions include:

Seminole Canyon – Ancient pictographs, rugged limestone terrain and spectacular canyons lure visitors to some of the oldest rock paintings in North America.

Val Verde Winery – established in 1883 by Italian immigrant Frank Qualia, making it the oldest bonded winery in Texas.

 

The Whitehead Memorial Museum – a small frontier village in the middle of Del Rio, Texas. Established in 1962, the Whitehead Museum includes 20 exhibit sites and occupies more than two acres of beautifully landscaped space with a variety of attractions. Public museum that was established in 1962 to preserve historical artifacts that reflect early history, cultures and economics of Del Rio and Val Verde County.

Judge Roy Bean Visitor Center – The Law West of the Pecos. Langtry, Texas. The west’s most colorful justice of the peace, he ruled America’s last frontier in the last decades of the 19th century. A preserved page out of history.

 

Lake Amistad – The name means “friendship.” The lake is an international recreation area located on the US – Mexico border. Featuring 850 miles of shore line of the finest fishing in Texas. Striped & largemouth bass, catfish and crappie abound.

Pecos High River Bridge – Towering 273 feet above the water and spanning 1310 feet across, this is the highest highway bridge in Texas.

Devils River State Natural Area – The Devils River is one of the most pristine, unspoiled whitewater rivers in Texas.

Fort Clark Springs – U.S. Military fort in operation for almost 100 from 1852 to shortly after WWII. It is on the National Registry of Historic Place. Enjoy swimming in the Las Morales spring-fed swimming pool, picnic area and more!

San Felipe Creek – Located on the outskirts of Del Rio, it is a crystal ribbon of water that flows through the heart of Del Rio.
